Please ask at opensuse's help forums. The audience here won't know as much about packaging issues on opensuse. Even though I co-maintain these packages, I don't know what this error means so I'm afraid I cannot help you either. You mentioned that you are using a package mirror or proxy of some sort. To rule it out as a source of this problem, have you tried installing packages from the actual repository at opensuse.org?
