Try to put something like the following at end
of your rendercomponent method. 


        PageRenderSupport pageRenderSupport = TapestryUtils
                                .getPageRenderSupport(cycle, this);

                Map symbols = new HashMap();
                symbols.put("colorPicker", this);

                _script.execute(cycle, pageRenderSupport, symbols);
