Hmm... can you give us a little code that reproduces the problem? I've seen this when I don't have my layout included properly. I believe that your rendered page isn't getting the default css/js included from tapestry. Could it be that you don't have a <head> or <body> element defined? I can't compile anything right now or I'd be able to check it out myself...
