Hi Marie, ik think Howard is trying to tell you is that it is impossible for any of us to tell you where the problem occurs without more information. A lot of things could have been configured wrong, mistyped, misplaced etc.
I used the same book (Enjoying Web Development With Tapestry) to get up to speed with Tapestry 4 and I thought it was a very good book. You do have to keep in mind though that it really targets Tapestry 4. Both Tapestry 3 and Tapestry 5 work differently. So make sure you are using the proper distribution. Also make sure all dependancies are available on your classpath. If they are not or something is configured wrongly, most likely Tomcat will spit out some error-log. If you post that error-log here we might be able to better help you out.
