There's the EventListener annotation that replaces AjaxEventSubmit but no similar component.
As for the floating pane, I'd use tacos 4.1.2-SNAPSHOT and its dojo:Widget component, see http://tacos.sourceforge.net/tacos4.1/tacos-core/quick-start/downloading.html http://tacos.sourceforge.net/tacos4.1/components/dojo/DojoWidget.html and also tacos-demo has an example of it.
