It's too much trouble to get IntelliJ to ignore the elements in the namespace; I just ignore the warnings.
The big challenge with IntelliJ is that it's very picky about which files it copies into the out folder (which, along with compiled .class files, is the runtime classpath). You need to update Project Settings -> Compiler; there's a resource patterns list there. It really needs an option that says "everything in this folder".
