Changing the subject doesn't start a new thread because the original poster's message id - which is
used to identify messages belonging to a specific thread - is still in the message if you hit the
reply button. To start a new thread you either have to remove the respective mail headers (which is
quite unhandy to do) or just hit the "new" button.
