Well, using 'color' attribute in the example was misleading, since i want to set an attribute that is a field of the model so it is no a good fit for css. I`m currently using the GenericSelectModel class defined in http://wiki.apache.org/tapestry/Tapestry5HowtoSelectWithObjects I´ll try to tweak it to include my attribute which is I think more or less what you suggest
