I have seen m2eclipse have problems generating the correct eclipse project files when you attempt to add src/main/java to the <resources> section in the pom.
Try running the tests by firing maven from the command line. Do the tests find the resources? If so then m2eclipse is barfing somewhere. >From memory, if you right click on the project in eclipse and go to "properties" then "java build path" then go to the "source" tab. You may find that there are some wierd filters in there that need to be deleted.
