The entity is an orthogonal table abstraction - a variable number of columns and rows where columns are orthogonal to rows. There are no concrete entities that I'm pumping in hence why I've had to implement a BeanModel and PropertyConduit to rip out the values. I'm guessing, as you say, the best approach may be simply to do it the way it feels by treating the first value of the property as the column name for the client-end table.
