I am having some problems with session timeouts. I set the session-timeout
property to 15 minutes in the Tomcat global web.xml and also in my application
web.xml. However, Tomcat is not always timing out when sessions are inactive
more than 15 minutes.

On some systems, it behaves as I expect. When the session times out (after 15
minutes) and the user requests to display a page, the login page is shown and
user needs to log in once again. However, in other situations, and I can't
really link this to a specific machine, the session never seems to expire. I
can browse any page of the application regardless how much delay there is
between accesses. Sometimes, rebooting the machine fixes the problem. Sometimes
not.

I am wondering if anyone in this list has experienced this problem, if this is
a known issue, if there is any plans to fix this (if it is a real issue) and if
there is a workaround.

Martin
