These answers give me some ideas to verify the developer's code
I 'll try to set a session listener
Sorry for the connection : the application's security is coded in the
database by using Oracle's role and we can't use pool connection

Yes I also think he should implement something like this:

public class SessionListener implements HttpSessionBindingListener, 
HttpSessionActivationListener, Serializable {
...
    public void valueUnbound(HttpSessionBindingEvent event) {
        <put code to release connection here>
    }
...
}

and put one of those in each session that has a gets an connection.
