Thanks Chris, I'm looking for restart capability only. Actually I have dozen of tomcat instances running on Linux machines, I want to give the restart capability to the developers team, can you please explain a bit that how I can achieve that . In any case, using jsvc is probably the easiest way to control your JVM if you intend to make it "restartable".
