I completely agree with David that the problem is more likely to be your database and/or your application than Tomcat. The next time you experience "hanging of Apache Tomcat" you need to take a thread dump[1] or two and take a look at what's going on. I suspect Tomcat will be waiting on your webapp's code to do something - -- possibly complete a database transaction, etc. Once you have that information from the thread dump, we can maybe help you solve the problem. But there is not magic bullet that will "fix" a web application that is freezing up: anything could be the cause. - -chris [1] http://wiki.apache.org/tomcat/HowTo#How_do_I_obtain_a_thread_dump_of_my_running_webapp_.3F -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1 Comment: GPGTools - http://gpgtools.org Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://www.enigmail.net/ iQIcBAEBCAAGBQJSvfHvAAoJEBzwKT+lPKRYVZsP/jjBaKMFn5n2eIYK6jSCfp/Q tOGw4/L76ahUt+1k+3Xbj5eP7dUg1nI6lxfq7ZgVKlU8GzVzulHDoDyAh14RQvDf usJ73y1AfKYFLfChCa455k/WFtayBIwUATfC+qe4+TwFb5J1Sj/YUc93UTvMoJxR /wwBnCG3hufVilcFpOikJYQBo6M2IFOBn5R3FhkU9h++hnb1aygi+GoJ1xApdlXb IuoS4kFfiHvY/vrvIINYL8TjY5KyK5yCQ/qKl/HPMBrhODkabH5uuAaQVqN0tCLl WGKleUC47bwrqOrg7soYAfi14nzbPWyAvOnBfZKRUo9KtEekZRmOtyJjDERG+SLS JdnWbnuv+7j1QmGaiVUSczTiiZYusPWV0ORhLu3TIkQX4dIZC1wRhKDOG5aUxVF5 smHAvSbUt0WZ3SiX93TXRXfPVNrE4yD1k27RnYso4T3t/5HNJIszsbe0ETVx2Ytv HAY6ionhCd5tLfgcm1FEexxUzTpra9vcwdBW61vXjkzpaFVKwz2Szi07qpzFdwmy ycTVa7zOraW3lAwHwK2knnySs1EmaFTK2nJk8BNtm7VDntzI7h7FSEX9qKTSUEdO +1RFYhJT9p87gDuvkM3d9LTR7U6xFmPweIXzopC5ZAk+y2fmoq9mWd7oVWGRStFd ikfCaxjN36BihzcB7Mdm =wTIq -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscr...@tomcat.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: users-h...@tomcat.apache.org
