Tomcat not reading jsp code

I have apache tomcat 7.0 and Linux 6.1 server.
I had written simple jsp code in a .jsp page which will redirect page and
deployed in tomcat .
When. Page is accessed then only html tags are shown and tomcat just skips
jsp code written under <% %> tag.
Plz help.
