Note that Java 7 has been EOL'd by Oracle nearly 2 years ago.
Continuing to use Java 7 puts you and your customers at risk of being
attacked by known or unknown security vulnerabilities.

If you don't have an extended-support contract with Oracle, you should
update to Java 8.

If you do have an extended-support contract with Oracle, you should
call them with questions like this.

There is nothing in Tomcat that should be able to crash the JVM,
unless you are using tcnative. All known tcnative-related problems
result in crashes directly within libtcnative and not within the JVM cod
e.
