All except for one thing:
I can *barely* wrap my mind around the idea of getting executable code
from an RMI server, but what legitimate purpose could be served by
allowing a *logger* to resolve executable code?

(And I have a fair amount of experience writing "solutions looking for a
problem" that "seemed like a good idea at the time," but turned out to
have no practical use. More experience than I'd like to have, in fact.)
