I am in the process of setting up a new server to replace our existing server. I run Tomcat 9.0.73 with Geoserver 2.22.2 for the mapping on our web site. It is a Windows server running Windows Server 2019. I have been using this setup on our old server for the last couple of years without any problems. Last evening I was trying to use robocopy for the first time to copy files from the old server to the new server. My Geoserver data directory is on drive D:\ and Tomcat is installed on drive C:\. In order to use robocopy I shared drive D:\ on the old server. Doing this seems to have made changes to the ownership and permissions on that drive because now when I try to access the mapping it times out because the data for Geoserver cannot be accessed using https. I removed the share on drive D:\ and rebooted the server, but the problem still remains. I restored my Geoserver data directory from backups just in case it was corrupted in some way, but that did not help. In the Tomcat manager I can view the Geoserver control panel without any problem, however that does not use https.
So you think this is more likely to be a problem with file permissions than with TLS configuration e.g. certs and stuff?
What is the actual symptom? For example, "Tomcat doesn't start" or "TLS handshake fails" or "client get 404 responses"?
