Hi,

actually new releases of Tomcat, Tomcat Connector etc. are announced on the mailing list and posted on the website.

What do you think of providing an RSS feed for announcements, website updates etc.?

If it can be automated, sure.

OTOH there's a Twitter/X account which doesn't seem to be active (anymore?). The latest post is from July '24 and refers to the availability of Tomcat 11.0.0-M22... Although I don't use Twitter (anymore) I'd appreciate if such announcements are also posted there :-)

I used to announce Tomcat releases on Twitter. I haven't done that since July '24 and have no plans to restart that process.

Regarding social media:
I'd also appreciate if there'd be an account in the Fediverse (which is becoming more and more popular) where such annoucements, updates, news, whatever are posted.

That should be doable.

What do you think?

BTW:
Where can I report errors on the website? I just found out that the link to the blog under "Media" doesn't work: It links to https:// blogs.apache.org/tomcat that redirects to https://tomcat.apache.org/ blog/ which results in a 404/Not Found.

Here is fine.

Let me see what happened with the blogs link. I thought the content got migrated somewhere...

Here it is:
https://blogsarchive.apache.org/#tomcat

The content is pretty dated. We should probably drop the blogs link - at least from the navigation bar anyway.

I've dropped the Twitter and the Blogs link. I left YouTube as there is more recent Tomcat content from Community over Code conferences we could/should add to that channel.

Mark

If someone wanted to start producing content, that would be a good way to contribute to the project.
