Hi Doug. Looks like I forgot to provide the necessary information. Here goes. Server: Windows 2000 Advanced Server Tomcat: 5.5.20 Java: Java Runtime Environment Version 5.0 Update 6 The connector I am using JK 1.2.19. The Tomcat I installed was from downloading the installer from the Windows Service Installer hyperlink listed on the Tomcat web site. During the installation, I left the port as 8080. After installation, I wanted to test if I could then view JSP pages, so I just created a temporary folder in the /webapps/ folder called /testing/ and dumped in helloworld.jsp. Then I opened up IE and typed in http://localhost:8080/testing/helloworld.jsp. It worked fine. I could see the words Hello World" displayed on my browser. However, after installation of the connector, I tried http://localhost/testing/helloworld.jsp and all I got was the 404 Error. It was rather strange because: 1.) I tried on both my home PC (running on Windows XP Professional SP2) and office PC (running on Windows 2000 Professional SP4) and both work fine. When I tried the exact same thing on the server itself, it gives me 404 Error. 2.) I followed the instructions down to the letter on all three machines and only the Windows 2000 Advanced Server is giving me problems.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Darry;l Parsons Technical Services <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: Darryl, Not a Tomcat on Windows myself, but a couple of things. Are you running a firewall on the box of any kind? What port do you have Tomcat configured to use? Past that I am sure the question of version will arise. Server (given) Tomcat Java You mentioned connector? Connector to what and why? Running as a service? How did you install? (Which download) Are you sure Tomcat is running and what type of error page are you getting Tomcat or IE? Give us some more information to work from and I am sure there are several list member that can help.
