Hi Steve,

CentOs had troubles with Dell blade video card and ACPI functions.
Sorry, I can't be more precise because it was quite a time ago.

Maybe, the problem was around dell server...isn't it!!

You must be mixing up Fedora and CentOS. CentOS has always been rock solid stable, it's a recompile of Redhat Enterprise Linux. Fedora is a bleeding edge new distro that is not intended for production servers and is often plagued by instability issues, like Fedora 7 was.





Last thing, this informations are important only if you are "root" and
have to manage distributions. If not, you don't care.
