There' a 5.0 stream (no longer maintained) and a 5.5 stream (maintained). The third version number then becomes significant. Could you give us any more of the version numbers, such as "5.0.26"? I suspect you'll have more initial luck posting on a RedHat list. They distribute a re-packaged version of Tomcat that puts a lot of things in very odd places compared to the default installation, and few people here are familiar with it. That said, if you can find out where the Tomcat server's log files have been put, I'd strongly suggest looking in there for errors. If you can then post the errors here, we might be able to help.
