Right. I get below in my log.

\WEB-INF\lib\javax.persistence-2.1.0.jar' contains offending class: 
javax.persistence.Entity. It will be ignored.

didnt think to it but eclipselinks comes with jpa api in some bundle, you 
should get rid of it
