Here is what I have discovered:  Jackson 1.9.9 works.  Jackson 2.2 fails, but
there are problems in the parsing of openejb-jar.xml that mask errors.  I'll
enter a bug for this but I don't know if it's openEJB, TomEE, or somewhere
else...

#1: This works:

In WEB-INF/openejb-jar.xml put this:

and in pom.xml put

#2: This seems to use the built-in provider rather than the Jackson one:

In WEB-INF/openejb.jar, put this

and in pom.xml put this.


And, strangely, this fails in exactly the same way as #2




In other words, nobody detects that cxf.jaxrs.providers is being set to a
bogus nonexistent class.
