well, I have been using TomEE with Windows 2003 server and then Windows
2008 server (in production), and Windows 2008 server (as development
PC/server, ever since beginning of tomee life), but I'm not using EAR, and
I don't specify @Local or @Remote.

i do remember a conversation... Romain recommending to use jdni global name
specified in tomee log @ startup. i don't know if it is will work inside
@FacesConverter.

you may want to try MyFaces 2.2. just as you are contributing to TomEE by
using it and reporting issues, i'm sure MyFAces committers will appreciate
you using it and reporting issues. just a recommendation. i'm not using it
yet, but I prefer to wait to use MyFaces 2.2 until it is bundled with
tomee+ ZIP file. :)
