Apache TomEE 1.7.0 is under voting so it seems that it will be release soon. But Apache TomEE 1.7.0 will be bundled with Tomcat 7.0.54 / https://github.com/apache/tomee/blob/tomee-1.7.0/pom.xml#L130) so if you want to use some features of Tomcat 8 I think that the integration will come with Tomcat 2.0.0 (nearly of November I guess).
