The binaries posted for review were created on Monday afternoon, and it'll be those that are promoted as opposed to the 1.7.x branch. So that means this patch will not be included in this release.
I don't know whether this is a "show-stopper" or not, perhaps you could elaborate on what doesn't work without the patch?
