Hello Mr. Romain, Thank you for the suggestion. I took your suggestion to the Dashbuilder developers and they asked me to try it for myself and see how it goes. So it took me some time to fork and build the app.
Removing "final" resulted in other errors, the application seems to be configured with some Weld (1.1.28) dependencies that kept complaining about missing Weld classes when removing Weld JARs that would otherwise conflict with OWB. There was a Weblogic build that had all Weld and JBoss classes stripped out already, I used that as a base instead of the Tomcat build and now I have the application working on TomEE.
