I confirm the data loss isn't ATS fault, the version you are using
doesn't delete the /var/run folder.
I advise you to not write any data on your disk and try to recover
your data directly from the disk, it's possible using data recovery
tools (for ex http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk )
good luck

*Hi,
can you give us more informations about the version you are using?
the operating system?
and the options you used when you installed ATS?
ps.
please don't be harsh in your emails, ATS is an open source
project, you are using it on your own risks, and support is a
favor not an obligation :)*

it is really really unbelievable! just minutes ago, I
uninstalled the apache traffic server by "make uninstall"
in the source folder, then type "make distclean" to clean
the previous files.
BUT,i found that my the whole folder /var/run was deteled
by it. it shocks me very much!
as we know, many datas will be put into this
folder,especially the MySQL data files.
NOW it is gone!!!! WHY??? want a reply.
hey!! anybody??? i think it is a serious bug. want a fix and
some saving for my DATA.
