I think that's not really correct, you can look at the cache like a map of request-digest and set-of-operations, instead of forward the entire post you could forward its digest and if it matches in the cache then its corresponding set of operations is taken running and the results returned. Therefore for some tasks is reasonable receive results updated to the latest elaboration old some seconds or minutes.
