Well, I can understand that. But my feeling is that if any of the dns databases are down, intervention is needed, and a shell script should not be responsible for determining what data should be used. I'm going to default to exiting if ANY errors occur, insuring that the previous data file is intact, and generate an error. I'd rather keep this script simple, stupid, and easy to customize than have lots of conditions for situations that many people will not need.
