There you can read that if you use the servlet mapping, you need to do
it on a subpath, i.e. /app *and* add the asterisk:

<servlet-mapping>
   <servlet-name>MreWicketApplication</servlet-name>
   <url-pattern>/app/*</url-pattern>
 </servlet-mapping>
