and remove getModel/getModelObject methods from component itself?
But then everybody that does use models have to implement it..
that would be the consequence with it's tradeoff.
i wouldn't have a problem with that though:
val myLabel = new Label('id') with StringModel( ":-P" )
but i suppose the java lobby will complain... ;-)
