No, but if you want to play around with it, a "standalone version" is here: http://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/attachment/12375765/Generic_EventBroadcaster.patch It doesn't change any existing classes, so you can just rip the code and include it in your project. Feedback is welcome :) Some sort of event mechanism is coming to 1.5.
