As you can see from some of my own topics, I'm no Wicket expert. 

I did have the same problem, and solved it by simply setting the content for
the ModalWindow panel inside the onClick of the AjaxLink that triggers it. 
So, each time you invoke the ModalWindow, it has new content.

Something like: 

        add(new AjaxLink("showModal") {
            public void onClick(AjaxRequestTarget target) {

                // set or reset modal content here
                    modal.setContent(new ModalPanel(modal.getContentId()));

                modal.show(target);
            }
        });      

Of course, there may be a better way.
