Hi,
have you tried setting
getRequestCycleSettings().setResponseRequestEncoding("UTF-8");
getMarkupSettings().setDefaultMarkupEncoding("UTF-8");
in your Application#init
If you don't set the default markup encoding explicitly, the default
for it is the 'os provided encoding' (see:
IMarkupSettings#getDefaultMarkupEncoding)
