Surprisingly getDebugSettings().setComponentUseCheck(false) allows
this behavior, at least on 1.3.

   add(new Label("authorName"));

   <span wicket:id="authorName"></span>
   <span wicket:id="authorName"></span>

... not that I'm advocating this side effect.
