also check `mvn deploy` - you can use that to export your war with scp://, for maven eclipse integration check m2eclipse. as for lighttpd, i don't know, but i remember there was no ajp connector available last time i was searching, let us know if you have some experience on that!
oh, and a comparison one day between django and wicket would be cool ... :-)
