I though more something like this:
AjaxLink link = new AjaxLink("copyAddress"){
               @Override
               public void onClick(AjaxRequestTarget target) {
                   this.address2 = this.address1;
                  target.addComponent(myAddress2);
               }
           };//end of Link

wouldn't that work?
