If it ain't baroque, don't fix it? I think it just comes down to the fact that we haven't had time to switch and test that everything still works. I think there's a JIRA issue for this that mentions the warning that you copied here. You could test out switching to generate and make sure the app still works like it does currently, then comment on the JIRA with your results. That would help us make the switch quicker.
