indeed, this is a Tapestry feature. (I am thinking to look into this, this would be a really nice feature to have in Wicket as well...) However, i have now similar behaviour by using JRabel (aka javarebel). This is a cheap commercial product that makes classes realoadable (also non-wicket/tapestry classes).. It is not 100% bullet proof, but it certainly is saves a lot of time! (reducing 70% of all server restarts..)
