Check out "TotalValidator", a plugin and local JAR file that can be run on 
internal pages to ensure your markup is correct.  If the markup is bad, then 
you will get unexpected behaviors.

Will do, thank you! But just to clarify things, what is not
working is not an Ajax component but an ordinary submit button.
