6.26.0 does appear to work, so I guess it's a bug that got fixed. It's a bit of a scary change to jump all the way to 6.26 in a single commit though... I guess I'll try to figure out how it was fixed and see whether there is a hack I can apply temporarily by overriding WicketTester.
