Hi Carmelo, you can most definitely attach .doc & . pdf documents to your wiki pages. Then using the Lucene search engine ( http://traduction.xwikiworkspaces.com/xwiki/bin/edit/XWSCode/Translations?editor=wiki ) you will be able to search into attached documents contents. Attached documents will show up with a specific icon in search results and their content will be indexed and searched by Lucene.
Aditionally, you might want to use the live attachment grid snippet that allows you to browse all the files that have been uploaded to your wiki at any given time ( http://code.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Snippets/AllAttachmentsLiveGridSnippet ).
