Hi, I just tested on a fresh 1.9 (jetty/hsqldb) install and the "Edit" menu works fine on both xwiki/1.0 and xwiki/2.0 documents. I even switched to simple edit mode from my user profile and the "Edit" menu still worked fine. Are you saying that both:
http://localhost:8080/xwiki/bin/edit/Space/Page http://localhost:8080/xwiki/bin/edit/Space/Page?editor=wysiwyg display the WYSIWYG editor but in the case of the first URL the content is empty?
