Hi, Mainly due to my tight work schedule and partly due to my negligence officeimporter has been lacking Office2007 file format support. I have added this support into OfficeImporter and it will be available with XE versions 2.2M1 and above.
I have created an issue here http://jira.xwiki.org/jira/browse/XWIKI-4690and keeping it open until I have tested new changes with thorough manul testing.
