You can check with Firebug (or any other similar tool) if the modified content is submitted (check the POST parameters) and if the AJAX request is send to the right place (check request URL). Note that the edit buttons should behave the same in WYSIWYG and Wiki edit modes. Check that the wiki edit mode works fine.
