Below are the steps that i followed to install: 1. Downloaded the zip from github( https://github.com/apache/incubator-zeppelin) and unzipped it. 2.Opened the terminal and ran the command mvn install -DskipTests thats said in the zeppelin installation docs( https://zeppelin.incubator.apache.org/docs/install/install.html) 3. After a while I get hundreds of messages that say error , like [ERROR] npm http 200 https://registry.npmjs.org/js-yaml/-/js-yaml-2.0.5.tgz , etc. I then stopped the build and , 4. I deleted the incubator-zeppelin directory unzipped the downloaded zip file again and now ran "sudo mvn install -DskipTests" (sorry, I am new to the Mac environment) and thats when I get the error mentioned in the first thread.
I checked npm and bower are properly installed. UPDATE: I just tried building again ignoring the error that showed up mentioned in step 3. It said BUILD SUCCESS! I was successfully able to start zepplin and it works awesome! Thanks for the help Damien , one more question regarding this step in the installation document. Add jars, files spark.jars, spark.files property in *ZEPPELIN_JAVA_OPTS* adds jars, files into SparkContext. for example, ZEPPELIN_JAVA_OPTS="-Dspark.jars=/mylib1.jar,/mylib2.jar -Dspark.files=/myfile1.dat,/myfile2.dat" Does this above line the method to add custom jars like jodatimedate jars etc ?
