SAP Business Objects Solution Architect - Lead Role Location: Needs to be able to travel between the US (Project Location: Farmington, CT) and other travel US travel destinations including Indianapolis and TX (tbd). This is a rollout for Mexico and the team will be required to travel to Mexico at various times during the project. Duration: 12 - 14 months Job Description Act as working team lead and solution architect for the DW reporting development team. This team will design, develop, and deploy ETL jobs using Business Objects Data Services / Data Integrator 12.3 to populate an Oracle 10g database in the Data Warehouse with data from SAP and other data sources. Also this team will design, develop, and deploy Business Objects XI 3 universes and reports to allow operational and tactical analytical reporting of purchasing, production scheduling, and forecasting business processes. This team will be part of a larger team focused on extending the existing SAP order to cash solution into the manufacturing and related business processes. Work with subject matter experts from business units as well as IT to create proper data models, ensure proper data representation and robust reporting requirements. Apply advanced skills in designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting Business Objects projects that are completed on schedule and within budget. Provide occasional instruction, direction, and mentoring to other warehouse development personnel. Minimum experience " Experience in leading the delivery of Business Objects universes and reporting, starting including hands on, full lifecycle implementations of data warehouse tools including ETL, database, and reporting " Competent to work in all parts of Business Objects activities " Strong Data Modeling experience including dimensional model " Knowledge and experience with Data Warehousing concepts and methodologies " Prior experience leading Data Warehousing team " 2 years experience in Business Objects including universe design and reporting from multiple data sources and multiple universe. " Experience using Business Objects Data Services/Data Integrator ETL tools " Experience with Oracle databases including PL/SQL and SQL " Bachelor's degree Preferred experience " 2-5 years with Data Warehousing Architecture and Design. " 2-5 years BO Data Services/Data Integrator including v12 " 2-5 years experience with Business Objects, at least 2 years of XI including design of complex solutions. " Previous DW experience with SAP data sources, particularly one or more of the PP, MM, WM, FI/CO and SD module, with exposure to COPA and logistics especially helpful. " Previous experience developing DW reporting for manufacturing and related business processes " A strong working knowledge of PL/SQL, and experience with Oracle 10g " Excellent written and verbal communication skills " Excellent organizational skills " Candidates must possess proven ability to interview process and functional experts, document business requirements, demonstrate functional and technical design, configure the system, develop tests, train end users, and trouble shoot.
