Primary Responsibilities
 
 
  • Create Test Plans / test cases based on Product Requirements Doc, Functional Spec Doc  and Technical Spec documents
  • Test software manually and writing scripts
  • Create Test Data required
  • Tabulate test results and log bugs and track for completion
  • Actively participate in big picture discussions with architects, engineers and cross functional teams
  • Coordinates QA tasks and reports to Project Manager on status, issues and escalations
 
 Qualifications
 
Ø  Education
 
o        Bachelor's degree in computer science (preferred), engineering, or relevant technical/analytical field
 
Ø  Experience/Skills
 
o        Minimum 5 years in QA processes and  testing, with proficiency in  Web Services, Web based applications , J2EE, Websphere, Eclipse, Oracle DB, Backend testing  and APIs
o        Strong experience in design and development of test plans and test cases/scenarios based upon functional requirements.
o        Strong experience with   estimating testing activities and level of effort for test planning and execution
o   Ability to do white box testing is very essential so must have development experience of 2 – 3 years
o   Experience with Data Exchange , ETL services , SQL, Perl/Scripting , Unix/Linux
o   Ability to work independently
o        Strong analytical skills
o        Strong attention to detail
o        Strong multi-tasking skills
o        Strong written/verbal communication and problem solving skills.
o        Strong presentation skills
 
Ø  Tools/Certifications
 
o   Proficiency with Microsoft Office (preferred) and/or other desktop productivity tools
o   Familiarity with HP Quality Center and Quick Test Professional  (preferred) and/or other testing tools (e.g.,Rational,)
o   Familiarity with performance testing tools like Load Runner/Silk Performer preferred
o   Familiarity with Microsoft Project (preferred) and/or other project planning tools
o   Familiarity with Agile / Scrum , UML methodologies a plus
